The Eastern Plains Healthcare Consortium has announced its intent to enter into a historic joint venture with Community Care Alliance, a subsidiary of Western Healthcare Alliance, marking a major step forward for rural healthcare collaboration across the state.
This partnership will unite rural hospitals from Colorado’s Eastern Plains to the Western Slope into a shared, provider-led clinically integrated network, expanding the reach and impact of population health infrastructure, data and analytics, care coordination, and contracting capabilities while preserving local independence and decision-making.
For EPHC and its member hospitals, this joint venture represents a pivotal next chapter. By taking an equity stake and participating in shared governance, EPHC strengthens its ability to advocate for rural communities, enhance sustainability, and position its hospitals for future payment reforms and evolving care models. This statewide alignment reflects years of collaboration and trust among rural providers and signals a powerful commitment to ensuring high-quality, locally delivered care remains available for communities across rural Colorado.
